Frustrated Desperation

Desperation
Isn't a feeling
It's a state of being
A ruthless system
Of government
Meant to push me down
To push me away
From myself
From all of my self
And there's a certain panic
In the face of it all
But it is too late
It's fully taken hold
Entrenched itself
well beyond my edges
It's in my dreaming,
My breathing,
My self inflicted feeding
My fear and pain
Desperation is in all of that
Panic rising like the tide
And I don't know
If it'll ever go out.
